yep...you are almost right Slim. This guy is very adept...he usually starts skinning and butchering about 4am...takes him next to no time to skin and butcher a deer...all cleaning is done in the field as soon as the deer is harvested.

He always has a freezer full of venison...the rest he gives away to whoever wants it...he's good like that.

Don't know about jack rabbits...but as far as the rabbits we have out here...30 - 50 in a weekend is quite common. But then again, we ar5e allowed to hunt at night with a spotlight which is the best time to get the bunnies. Very Happy Razz

Cheers, Vince

Is this how your fella got the deer also?

Some of them mate...but not all. Deer are feral in Queensland, so there is no season, no bag limit, no tags and no restrictions other than "get rid of them".

Whilst he enjoys hunting, his primary purpose is to get rid of the deer out of the orchards, vineyards and the broccoli patches.

And I like it raw dipped in Ranch dressing. Cauliflower too..

Bet those two, steamed and slathered with real butter, would go good with that Elk steak with mash potatoes and Elk gravy... Very Happy
