Long weekend of Bang Bang >>> (new pics!!)

Being an Aussie, one of my duty as a citizen is Jury duty.
So I am supposed to present myself to the office of the sheriff last week,
because of that, I have to decline a friend's invitation for a varminting weekend.
Woulndt you know, they postpone my jury duty show up day till 1st Feb.

Luckily the invites still on..
So, here I am waiting for my mate to pick me up for the hunting trip,
after frantically packing up the necessity.
I'll be taking along my 300 Whisper (yes I remember the bolt!) and 45-70.

Hopefully I can get some nice gory picture to show you guys, especially the 300 whisper shot result.

Wish me luck! Its going to be real HOT in the bush , would be about 43 celcius!!

I have lots of fun, it was too short a hunting trip..

Yep got gory photo of the 300 whisper, will post tomorrow.

Now, I have great news!!
I got a new bullet mold the NOE 1111-084, from castboolits.gunloads.c...hp?t=69462
So I tried the projectile on this trip..

Gas Checked with Hornady GC
Sized to .457 with Lyman 4500.
Lubed with Lyman GOLD

Rifle = H&R Buffalo Classic 45-70 32" barrel.
Load = AR2206H 35.3gn
MV about 1300 fps

On paper, groups at 2 inch at 100 meters.
On real flesh, 3 goats, 1 pig and 3 RABBITS all HEAD shot from less than 50 meters away.

Here is a shot of the typical wound created by 300 whisper.

the bullet travel as pointed by the knife.

The bullet entry is near the neck, just below of the back bone between the rib,
the exit is just clearing the rack just before the abdominal cavity.

The entry point is a tiny .300 cal. the exit point is a huge sideways knife stab type wound.

Just after shot, the goat staggered a tad, then resume feeding, and within 10 seconds toppled sideways and died.

Apology for only posting one photo, I forgot my camera and this is the only photo my mate took.

Well done Gelan...you and the BLOOMPH done a damn fine job mate. At least you are able to get out...no chance of that happening up here for a couple of months...ground is just too wet and boggy.

Vince mate, if you got time to visit us in NSW, we could arrange for an outing too.
I got a NOE 311284 214Gr. RN HP mold coming next month (if NOE is on schedule) for my Whisper.
I would be raring to go and try this one out.

I guess a headshot with a 45/70 would be pretty terminal for anything. great to hear your loads are working out for you.
