I swear it looks better in person or in better detail. I have some crisp pics and it's nice. But either or...to each his own!

What would Chambered do.... Confused

What would Chambered do? Well first he has to get unlost before he can make any reasonable decision. Let alone what color a rifle should be.

Mornin' buddy! Razz

Well- more of a rhetorical question. Something along the lines of would you leave a lami stock alone if ya couldn't find what you were looking for and really wanted to change the appearance of you rifle? Gimme yer thoughts....which you like better- before (top) or after? (bottom: pic went to crap when compressed- sorry. looks great unedited) and note- one thing both pics has in common...bolts is open. Very Happy

Oh I love it!! I'm with you about the also ran look. Everybody that wants something flashy gets the bright laminated stock and the stainless barrel. The stock I bought is laminated but a mute color grayish and the metal is going to be flat black. Don't want the flashy look.

Thanks, Suz.

Oh- BTW- that Dura-Coat site? If ya click on the "black" type colors they have a section just for same in order of flat to glossy...interesting so many shades of black. Plus they got's swatches you can order for a couple bucks too...impressive stuff how many colors they got. Tons of options too as far as kits etc...

I could live with it either way but I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't like the way it looked or didn't care for the laminated stock or thought it was to shinny and knew the stock shape wasn't just right ........................

I do like the gray and black scheme..........don't much care for the all one color look.
I would have tried getting gray fleckies instead of white.

Now you got to figure out what to do about that scope !!!

If you want a better picture to post take it outside and take advantage of the natural sun light. You could also try using the night time setting on the camera with and without the flash. Ya might need a tripod and use the built in timer.

Intersting replies.

Variety is the spice of life!

OK- where's Bushy and what have ya done with him! (he agreed with Chambered! Shocked )

Chamby- I love the piece, the price was right, it's proved itself worthy. I could live with it either way as well. I did wanna make some cosmetic changes after I got to know it better. Shoots real well from the bench, that's it's intended use as I aint a big game hunter. The heavy tactical vert-grip stock thing was a whim- it's wasn't prudent cost or reailty-wise so that didn't come to pass. But either or....and as far as pics. I have the last one I posted on my box at work. It's hi-def. Again- I gotta compress my pics to post here so...the quality goes to fuzz.

I thought about natural light but if I took it outside here for even a second? 4000 cops and treehuggers would storm the joint and burn me out.

WTH's wrong with my scope. Cap on upside down? Oh, right, it aint a Loopy. Laughing I like this scope, "looks" the part, plus, this thing aint being carried so the target turrets aint an issue. And- it's heavy, add's some ounces.

Got a query into Duracoat now. The finish on my rifle is "Marinecote". Not glossy, more like matte. Bombproof stuff. If they think it'll stick w/o sanding I might go for it in black matte and make it permanent. Also asked them if one should spray the action where it's bedded. I didnt with the header hi-heat paint..not sure I would with Duracoat either... any more thought's gang?
I kinda like the dead-flat soot look on the barrel/action, it's a very thin coat that didn't fill the roll-marks, don't hurt nothing, aint permanent. Would need touching up a lot though.

Thanks for the intersting POV's gents. Good to hear what y'all like and don't.

Interesting project so far.... I'm pleased with how it looks now. Cost a whopping 15$ too. Cool

That high heat header paint is good for at least 1200 F I think. Just another thought, what about epoxy paint?

Klasscoat Epoxy Paint
