I picked this rifle up late last fall. Since we were blessed with an over abundance of snow this winter, I carried it alot while skiing. I was able to ski into a few prairiedog towns. That was alot of fun. Had alot of fun skiing in and calling coyotes also. This summer this will be my mountain bike backpacker rifle. We have a few dog towns that are in a non-motorized use area, so you either walk in a long ways, or bike in. Usually have these places all to ourselves. The rifle is an 1885 Winchester LowWall in .223. It is very light, well balanced, and very accurate, and just plain fun to shoot. Very Happy

moose2, that is a very nice rifle! Besides beautiful, I believe you that its light and compact. One of the advantages of the older single-shot designs. Thanks for sharing.

As Gelan and Slim said mate...beautiful rifle. I would love to try "back packing" in the snow...in fact, haven't seen snow for 35 years.

Hope ya don't go bazzerack on ya mountain bike mate...going "base over apex" with your rifle on your back would not do it any good...you would have to send to to me then so I can give it the TLC it deserves. Very Happy Very Happy

Cheers, Vince

I had the same thoughts. Well maybe not exactly the same, in my thoughts it was worded a bit differently, but it was the same general idea. I'd be afraid it would suffer a fall and it's way too nice for that.
Congrats on a beautiful rifle. If I was a P-dog I'd already be worried.

Thanks guys for your words. Me, I'd much rather snow ski than mountain bike. I sure hope that mountian biking goes good. This rifle I was able to pick up late last fall from Davidson's. They had a really good close out sale going on them. There's is a good site to watch come end of year clearances on some items. Smile
