Wednesday was a very rough day. The puppy I game my buddy was hit and killed by a car in the morning. A flock of geese were in the field across the road from their house and Kinky knew that they were what we go out looking for. Blaine is my friend that just came home from Afghanistan this spring. We had my chocolate bred just so he would have a special friend when he came home. He really bonded with Kinky, she was the first born and her tail had a big kink in it. She was the biggest of the whole litter with a loving and pleasing manner. Blaine is pretty broken up about her loss, a dog can be a soldiers best friend when they come back to the world. His wife has told me that no one has ever given him such a meaningful gift. Now he feels like he has let me down by losing her. It is a harsh way to lose a four legged friend but to be Blaine's puppy that it happened to is so painful. Blaine has had a hard time readjusting to life back in the real world and Kinky was his friend no matter what. She will be sadly missed.
Sad

Wiersay...that is one of the most terrible things I have heard in many a long day mate.

It's bad enough that Blaine has to get his head back in the right place, but to loose the one friend that had the potential to be his saviour, and in such a terrible way, will haunt him for a while mate. I'd get him over to play with your chocolate bitch mate....might go a long way to help him get over the accident.

Thanks Elvis, Vince. I am trying to help him get out hunting, one good thing is that his wife also was the recipient of one of our puppies to help keep her occupied while Blaine was gone. Since the loss of Kinky Blaine has not let Tinkerbell out of his sight and has even been taking her to bed at night. I have thought about breeding Emma again so we could give Blaine another furry friend.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my dog in June and it really hurts. Take care...

Thanks Joe. It's always tough to lose a dog, they become part of the family. It would have been bad if it was one of my puppies but losing Blaine's pup is even harder.

Lossing a fur-friend is a hard blow. In tme things will be better. You know I bet there are a few rescue places who might be abel to help out and get some pals together to help each other. Just a thought. When the time is right a new friend will find it's way to all of ya'.

Thanks Arron, The worst part is that no one has ever done something like that for Blaine so now he feels like he let me down. Which is so untrue, it was plain and simply fate that Kinky was taken from him.

Wiersy, thats bad news indeed!
I cant even think of how it would be if we lose our dog.
They adopted us and wormed their way into our hearts to become a real family.

I hope your mate would recover from the loss.

Wiersay...consider showing Blaine a copy of this thread mate...might help him understand the way you feel and accept that he hasn't let you down by any stretch of the imagination.

on such occasions I consider myself not knowing well enough the English language. The only thing I could say to your friend: it's very difficult to forget, but somehow the next one will always try everything to help to reduce the pain of the previous.
Remember: you'll survive every dog except the last one.
But I can tell you the pain will increase with every next dog, because somehow they manage always to come closer and closer.
