I was out walking yesterday in anew area about 15 min from home. This area does have Sambar deer on it as well as pigs and possibly a few Reds. Does anyone know, probably the Aussies here might, do Sambar stags wallow during the rut, if so would they use a creek and wallow in the side of it. I do have some pictures for what theyre worth but I gotta work out how to get them on the site

I'm not aware if any deer types that wallow. I know they like to dust themselves, like horses and other animals. You might inquire at a zoo, a lot of zoos have deer of various types. You need one of those game cameras!

Yes they do.
I'll grab a couple of pictures from another website.
These blokes have some fantastic pics of Sambar in Victoria.
There are other photos but these show the wallow.

Holy Sh.T That could be identical to what I found the other day, (sans the deer,) The first picture especially looks so alike its uncanny, in a creek and off to the side slightly....

The temperature through the day would be just above 0 degrees C

Its a man thing Suz (or maybe a woman thing)
A fair bit of urine goes into the wallow
Then the male rolls around in it to make himself smell attractive
Then hey presto, women come from everywhere,
With the intention of breeding with the most attractive male
