Slim, 3 extra points for you and a seat closer to the front!
Just for taking into account the number of mouths to feed and the size of your partner's freezer.
On the other hand, if I were your partner, I would invite you (and yr family) to come over and tast the way I was dealing with all these extra's, so the scales would come a little closer to equilibrum, you (or yr wife) might learn some extra trick to cook and we all would have fun (and a good meal).

Ok, Vince, back on topic. Of the hunters I talked to the first morning, all the shoot distances were between 200 and 300 yards, except one. His was at 100 yards with a 300 Win Mag. The shot was in the lower half of the chest cavity but behind the leg. He said the elk ran for 100 yards before expiring.

I am going to hazard a guess that this was far too much rifle way too close. Also, the shot placement didn't help either...it should have been a bit higher methinks. The bullet would not have had a chance to work correctly. It would have been a through and through shot in an instant, and unless the bullet hit something hard on the way through I doubt it would have had much of a chance to deform.

Sierra's 180 grs RN in a .300 WM would make me feel very comfortable... what kind of bullet was he using in his 300?
