I don't know. Does this sound too good to be true?

Marty I'm not one to try a new product until it is a consumer proven product.

I also have several "old" firearms with barrels that have seen thousands of rounds through them that still look like new when the copper is removed. Including the 62 year old "Jack Handle". Not sure what this product would do to improve a 1 5/8" three shot group at 100 yards from a Winchester Mod 94 .30 WCF.

But if you try it, let us know what you find.

I'm skeptical of this, sounds somewhat in the order of moly coated bullets.

Confused I have used a similar product called "microlon-gun juice"and it indeed does work on making the groups smaller. One note on this that I have found;the barrel should be "broken in"- with at least a couple hundred rounds to establish a base grouping, and to smooth out the really rough spots in the bore, followed by a thorough cleaning before applying and shooting. You can actually see the results /improvement as you shoot with the microlon.I think that this gel might not be too far off. Smile

Here's their website. xado.us/index.php?rout...uct_id=110
From what I understand, you can buy a single tube for $14.95, but need the three different tubes to do a used barrel so $47.85 to buy them all individually or $49.95 as a "3 tube gift set".

They also have products for car engines.

The general idea I'm getting off their website is this is nothing more then a special metal glue.
It adheres to metal and when set has the same general qualities as metal. In the car, your cylinder walls and pistons will get a coating which is meant to increase the seal therefore giving increase fuel efficiency and horsepower.

In the rifle, I can see it filling up the channels between the rifling and on top of the rifling itself. But because the bullet is also "reaming" the barrel at the same time it's applying the cement, it should be ok.
It should restore any pitting/damage to the rifling AS LONG AS some of the rifling is still fully intact (ie, same hight as original) and filling the gaps between the rifling will serve to seal the barrel better making the powder burn more effective and increasing pressures.

So if you do try this product, make sure you use a factory round or a lighter then normal hand load, before working up some loads to find the new max load.

""I take pride in all my firearms, and I used XADO's SnipeX on my AK47. I followed the instructions to the letter. Before I used it, I was in about a 4-inch group at 200 yards. After using it on my rifle barrel, I was shooting in a 1 to 1-1/2 inch group. This stuff really works!" "

Thats all I need to read. I gotta call BS on this one. Confused

I think you've made a good call fellers. Sure sounds like baloney to me. Now a friend did try that "Gun Juice" and said that it was easier to clean afterwards.

I stopped at when they said formal studies are currently underway. That got me to thinkin about some good ole government money for a study!! Me and Stovie might be interested in a government study to see if it really works or not. Apparently even the manufacturer isn't sure....now it may be....I don't know this but.....it may be that it also cures cancer or is beneficial to those wanting to lose some pounds....this might require some extra funding to find this out but I'm sure there's funding available. You could compare this to the hydrating effects (or non-effects) of water on de-hydrated individuals. I've recently been aware of a government study that concluded that water has no effect on re-hydration. Now I've observed that these government studies are quite substantial and actually it took 12 Italian scientists to conclude this study. I'd say if we could gather enough funding we could also employ Italian scientists (for effect) and come up with the desired results beneficial to further funding enterprises that might bring my retirement up to par with the governmental establishment. Could do a study on that too...uh anyway...lost my train of thought...

All I could find on this "product" is a process called metalloceramics coating. It sounds sort of similar to a process I've seen employed on Top Fuel dragster pistons...but I'm not sure. I don't believe it is a moly derivative, but who knows...anything is possible in science.

Call me crazy, call me wild...but I think if this process was going to revolutionize the automotive industry, with flow on to the firearms industry, then I think there would be a lot more hype about it out there.

I think I'll adopt a "wait and see" attitude. Time for another beer Elvis. Cheers Cheers

Isn't it interesting how all the REALLY good stuff comes from somewhere far away? This has to be good because it comes from Europe. When my mother had leukemia, some well meaning soul recommended she get treated with trace minerals from Australia (not saying that Australia isn't great). When they advertise shampoo, it's much better if the pitchman has some type of accent.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I'll tell you what I really think.

1. Anyone can market some new whizz bang thing and make a lot of money until people figure out it doesn't work. Witness all the treatments for bald men hair restoration over the years.

2. I think there are some products that are really good but under appreciated; probably because they get buried under all the advertising for stuff that is crap. There are several such products that I use. One is Prolong for engine treatment.

I also use Microlon Gun juice. I think Microlon does improve accuracy some & probably increases barrel life but the biggest advantage I've found with it is when I treat a brand new barrel with it, copper fouling ends up being much less and more easily removed.

Prolix is a product I've come to use as a cleaner, as a lubricant and as the final coating in barrels I've cleaned. It's relatively economical to buy and, unlike oil, when put in a bore and followed with a dry patch, prevents rust and won't cause the first few shots after cleaning to be "fliers."

Yeah popcorn for me too, but, I'll pass on the Cool-Ade.Worked with metals and associated metal products all my life and this is very similar to BS Lube Inc.

Unfortunately, some poor schmuck will buy it and swear it is the greatest thing since having sex with a nubile 22 year old redhead. First clue he/she/it never had sex with a nubile 22 year old redhead.

But, then again I could be wrong. Embarassed
