HI anyone made some heavy heavy shotgun relaods in 3 inch shells??

I'm looking for a heads up for some 1.5 OZ or 2 Oz #4 buck or AAA or SSG realoads for 3 inch shells.

Roll crimped if possible

over 1100 FPS though.

Ogre,

I had to pull out my old lyman manual to find this but I thought it would help. The manual precautions are that no components be changed or substituted because pressures will change and might ruin your gun and cause serious bodily harm or death to shooter or those standing close. so here is the exact data from Lyman:

Winchester or Western Compression formed case (the old AA cases that are one piece plastic with low or high brass)
31 grains of WW540
Winchester 209 primer
one Alcan Airwedge + one Alcan 3/8" Feltan Blue streak
41 pellets (exactly) of #4 buck
1135 fps and 10230 LUP

Same case, Wad column, 41 pellets and primer
31 grains of Hs-6
1120 fps and 10190 LUP

If you are using a different case let me know and I will look up any loads that are listed for your case.

I have fired quite a few 50gram loads which are damn near 2oz and I can tell you that you don't want to fire a lot of them in one go - too much strain on the old shoulder, those things kick like a bitch! I hope you have a heavy gun to put them through - I assume you are chucking them out of a 12 bore? Are 'roos THAT hard to kill? Smile

The heavy european loads you can get are not often imported into AU.
When they are they are a dear as poison.

Used to be able to get the RIO 42 gram mini magnums in BB's and they were great fox and dog medicine.

Not for skippy the heavy loads are for porky pig
