Im getting old.

Went to optometrist last week, told me I had "old eyes"
got my first ever set of glasses today and learning how to drive them now...holy smoke its like someone has stuck my eyes inside a scope turned up to 9x Shocked

biggest issue so far is when I go from looking at screen (looks like a 36" screen) down to keyboard (which looks like a giant kiddies toy one) I have to move my head instead of just my tired old eye balls... I will get used to it I suppose, thank goodness I dont need them for shooting yet!!!

Yep...EYE CRUTCHES mate...once ya got 'em, yer stuck with the damn things. My Eye Doc was surprised I didn't need readers before I did at 47.

Do you need them just for reading, or for distance as well?

Then ya get like me, I went to the eye doctor and found out I only need glasses to read. Been wearing glasses for distance since high school but now I don't need them, but just to read with. Age catches up with you I guess.

Yeah, Bushy, you seem to be aging at a nice slow pace . . too stubborn to die before 100, at least. you must have chosen the correct liquor. What's your favorite again? (I'm guessing bourbon or rye)

mine are just for reading and as I'm off work with the man flue they are getting a workout. I started a Wilbur Smith at midnight and are 3/4 of way through it.
its only up close that's an issue no problem with my eyes is just my arms are too short. Sad

I have been wearing glasses since I can remember.
Born with astigmatism I cannot tell that a ball is round without my glasses.
Last few years, I am graduated to wearing multifocal Sad

Well, at least shooting pistol I do not need to focus much beyond the front sight..

I've been wearing lineless bifocals for quite a while and you do get used to them. I can actually read, and see handgun sights, pretty well without them but things start to get fuzzy just beyond arm's length. I think I actually shoot a handgun a little better with just plain safety glasses, as long as the target isn't too far away.

If its any consolation I got my eyes tested earlier this year and now have to wear glasses when reading, its a bastard at times, gotta stop people from telling their story so I can put my glasses on so I can see what the hell I'm writing in my notebook at work.
On the other hand my glasses are in a good solid case that fits nicely inside my Body Armour so theres no chance of loosing them or having them damaged. Very Happy
