I've searched with no luck. Is anyone aware of where to find the twist rate of Remington rifles based on serial number?

I'm looking for info on my Model 700 BDL in .308 Win. Everything I can find online indicates that it SHOULD have a 1:12 or 1:10 twist (I always assumed 1:12) but decided to measure it as best I could today and came up with 1:10.5 Other than a trigger job someone did to it before I got my hands on it, it's a factory rifle.

I can't find any reference to Remington using a 1:10.5 twist rate in .308 anywhere.

They are 1:12 unless you have the 5R barrel which 1:11 1/4 twist. or the 40X which has a 1:14.

You can do the same with the cleaning rod and a tight fitting patch.

That's how I checked mine...6 times and came up with 1:10.5 every time. I even used a bor brush wrapped with a patch 2 times just to make sure the jag and patch weren't sliding through the bore and giving me an incorrect measurement

so its 1 in 10.5, what is the issue? You can handle all the bullets you need to shoot.

Not an issue, I was just surprised by it. I'll gladly take it over 1:12.

It's winter here. Big game seasons have been closed since the end of November.
