Driving distance to your range.

Guys...I hate to burst any bubbles here....<laughin'>...but my 200 yard range is less than 40 yards from my back door....at the business end of it is my "Shootin' Shack"....a 10x12 enclosed, insulated building complete with electric, heat, phone, sat. TV, DSL hook up, shooting bench, office chair, and rear shooting window.....um yeah...my reloading bench, gunsmithing stuff and bowsmithy stuff is out there too.....

I'm gonna add a front porch with a roof over it this year....<grins>

really do want a lighted range all the way out to 200 yards but that's gonna hafta wait 'till next year........

Our nearest gun range is 110 miles round trip and you can shoot out to 200 yards. It cost $55 a year if you are over 55. I usually go out on my back porch and can shoot out to 150 yards or if I need to shoot farther, I drive 15 miles to where we deer hunt and can shoot out to300 yards.

Here in Sydney, I belong to a pistol club about 20km form home. The Malabar range ( 50meters to 1000meters ) is just next door to my pistol club.

For Indoor shoots, there are rifle 22 cal only range about 5 km form home and for Pistol indoor, the Shooting academy is 30minutes away.
An then there is the SSAA St Mary's range which is about 45 minutes away...

Hmm.. Sydney is the best aint it?

As the crow flies its about 1/2 mile from my driveway to the fireing line at my club.

OK wildswalker....you win mate.....I am humbled....and about as jealous as they come and green with envy. How does your "trouble and strife" put up with the noise of the range being that close to the house?

I would love to have a setup like you have ...it is definitely my dream. I would love to have 100,000 acres then I could do what I want with it and one of those "wants" is a range. Would be happy with 300m and a shotgun sporting clays type setup. Although my wife would probably move my bed out there. Sad
