I finally got this turkey calling thing down pat! The turkeys come to the call every time now. I never knew it was so easy to do!

Here is the first turkey I called up using this technique....

When he got close he started drumming and dancing.......

Then I got caught up in the beat and started dancing too...... Rolling Eyes

Very Happy Laughing Shocked Cool Laughing Razz Wink Rolling Eyes Notice the chicken wanted to join in too. OK, popgun is getting a little wierd in his old age! Rolling Eyes

Haha.

Good pict. I cant see the beard on him so I assume hes still pretty young. Body wise they are pretty... until you get to the head anyway. You raise them?

I havent seen a turkey yet this year... usually we have a good 50+ roaming around my dada cabin. My brothers seen a ton of them and my dad got his this spring but I guess they are afraid of me and all go into hiding when they hear my truck comming up the dirt road LOL

Yep, this was a tame one. Farm critter. He had a very short 2" beard.

The wife and I were on the way home from a morning turkey hunt when we saw a new colt in a pasture so we stopped to ask permission to take photos of the colt.

This turkey is the mans yard pet named "Jake", original huh? It was that time of year for his other two hen turkeys so "Jake" was strutting his stuff. I started some calls and "Jake" came over to me and started drumming & dancing. Then he got a little aggressive and had some kind of intentions thinking I was a big hen. Shocked Embarassed I stopped calling. Exclamation

Turns out that the man was an old customer of mine when I was a cop in the metro Atlanta area. Confused Like me, he moved to the country to get away from Atlanta. Very Happy
