An elderly Canadian gentleman of 83 arrived in Paris by plane.

At the French immigration desk, the man took a few minutes to locate his
passport in his carry-on bag.

"You have been to France before, monsieur?" the Immigration officer
asked, sarcastically.

The elderly gentleman admitted he had been to France previously. "Then
you should know well enough to have your passport ready.

" The Canadian gentleman says, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible. All Canadians have to show their passports on arrival in
France !"

The elderly gentleman gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he
quietly explained. "Well, when I came ashore on the Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944, I couldn't find a @#&*%$~ Frenchman to show it to."

This reminds me of a conversation I read between a British Airways pilot and a German air traffic controller in Berlin. The pilot was not clear on the layout of the airport and where he needed to park the plane, the air traffic controller asked him if it was his first time to Berlin, the pilot answered no, that he had been there before in the 40's but he was only dropping something off.

Good stuff, keep it coming!

Is that kind of like the thing about the rifle on ebay? "for sale ...One French milspec regulation army rifle, excellent condition. Never used. Dropped once."
