hunterjoe21, depending on your 22-250's rate of twist, it may not be able to stabilize a light bullet like the 40 gr anyway. I know my 22-250 in a 788 remington will not stabilize anything lighter then a 50-52 gr bullet.

If you had good results with factory ammo then you should be able to find a reload that works as good or better. It may take some time and a lot of experimenting but it will come. That's what makes reloading fun though isn't it?

Exactly my point, But for now I need a load to kill stuff with....the 50's are showing some promise....
I dont wanna go to 55's unless I need to....
I just finished 55 gr loads for my .243, why would I want to loose 500 fps and shoot them from a .22-250?

twist rates always confuse me anyway...
