Armscorp are good, from what I've heard, problem isn't the reciever the problem is getting the other parts for reasonable amounts of money, M14 parts can get expensive especially if looking for real USGI parts.

Congrats on receiving your rifle. I hope it's everything you want it to be.

Dave,
They can be had for more reasonable prices in the south side of the boarder. And you can pick up a Polytech or Norinco (both Chinese) if you'd like to get one even cheaper.

So you have two of these now?
Please excuse my ignorance about military pattern rifles, but are they both M1As, or is one an M14?
Which, the dark or the light one, is your new Springfield Armory M1A?
They both look like old-style classics compared to what's popular nowadays. Wood stocks have so much substance and warmth - I hope it gives you a quick snap-shot cheek weld.

Twofifty,
The Darker one, the one I refer to as the brunet is the M1A.
The other one (the blond girl) is a SAFN-49, the semi-automatic battle rifle which the FN FAL was based on.

Thanks. Now I notice the gas tubes are in different places.
It will be interesting to see the differences in handling and accuracy.

Handling wise they are about the same, the M1A feels alittle more natural to hold, and using its hinged butt plate it can be held with the left hand and reloaded without having to lose the general area of the point of aim as its not going to want to "slip from under" you.
Me holding the rifle:
