Important Notice (for all Sportsmen)

********************************************

“There is a proposition before the CO Wildlife Commission that would BAN prairie dog shooting in the entire State of Colorado, including on private land. On May 1 & 2 there is a meeting in Grand Junction where the COWC will be hearing arguments against the proposal. If this passes in CO, whose State is next?”

Are you serious?? If they decide to outlaw it, the dobs will become to numerous, get the plague, and all die off. Possibly infecting other animals around them and feeding on them. Must be tree huggers trying to save them. If God didn't want them to be shot, he wouldn't have inventer varmint calibers!!!

Yes, Cody... it is true!

Good folks... This is certainly no Joke !! It's 100% serious.

The Colorado Wildlife Commission held its regular March meeting in Denver on Thursday, March 13. The meeting began at 8:30 a.m. and ran through 4:15 p.m.

Agenda items included, but were not limited to, the following topics:

A citizen petition was introduced for banning the shooting of prairie dogs.

Check out the link(s) and see for yourselves.

That just blows me away, and disgusts me at the same time!! Maybe they should think of the sportsman that come to their state to shhot them, and the money they bring with them and spend!!!

They are protected here in Saskatchewan and have been for many many years. We only have them close to the 49th but ranchers there can do nothing about the PD's eating there pastures. Don't let it happen there too, speak up.

We don't have Prairie Dogs in South Texas. Do they really damage grazing pastures enough to put an economic burden on ranchers?

In the PD towns, and there are some big groups/towns, that I've seen south of here at the Frenchman river there appears to be no grass left. The ground looks totally bare. They can't even thin them out in Sask.

Is probably a not as bad for the rancher as it seems to the rest of us that see the vast area of absolutely no vegetation around the PD towns.

Perhaps there’s a rancher out there that can give us some first hand experience with prairie dogs.
