Heck, when I was younger and running a five-mile trapline, I'd eat half of my bait and drink out of stock ponds and cow troughs! Very Happy That's why I'm a tough old buzzard! Cary

And I suppose ya Mammy taught ya to sit 'round the fire at night knitting barbed wire wiv a couple of crow bars too eh mate. Laughing Laughing

As a general rule I carry very little with me when I am hunting. I usually have a few nibbles and a Camelbak of fresh water...that's about it, other than ammo of course.

I am never more than a few kilometres from the camp and back there we are very comfortable. At least one fridge...electric with solar panels...and plenty of tucker, water and what is it Bushy mentioned...ah yes, libation. Even have a sit down "Thunder Box".

If I injure myself, or the mate does, when out walking, there is always one of us there to assist. If either of us decide to wander off on our own, then we have a radio and the other knows exactly where we are going. We are both trained in emergency Advanced First Aid...plus a bit more...so again, we have that base covered. You don't need a fancy all singin' all dancin' First Aid kit with you to affect emergency aid...we do have a quite comprehensive kit back at camp though.

You travel fairly light Bushy...but then again I suppose you would have to seeing as how you are only using saddle bags. How is young Zeus coming along mate? Ready for a hunt yet?

Cheers, Vince

It ain't politicly correct Joe, and you and Bushy have my deep apology.

With Obama as our next president, ya never know where he and his henchmen will be looking, so I have to show my sensitivity around here.
They might let me keep my guns if I show that I am sensitive.
