I don't agree with Randy Weaver's politics, etc. but what the govt did at Ruby Ridge was just plain wrong. Do some research on what happened and I'll bet you'll agree.

I've seen Randy at some local gun shows a while back, trying to sell his book. I said hello but we never talked beyond that.

Janet Reno's Dept. of Justice

And now her Deputy will be our next Att. Gerneral.

Hide your guns folks.

Same with the Waco incident and to a lesser extent, the Eldorado incident in Texas. With the incoming administration, I'm afraid it'll be the same old song and dance.

Grumulkin: Ah, so you have been to some of our Arizona shows! Loved the post.

On another note: whether I associate with someone or not, like them or not, want them for neighbors or not has little to do with their right to live their lives as they choose and to grant me the same right -- with all the normal disclaimers noted. To this day, I am not aware of a proven charge against Weaver or Koresh that would have merited the type of over-reaction on the part of our government. Ruby Ridge and Waco remind us to be vigilant regarding our public servants but since they got away with it twice (that we know of), it would be surpising if there wasn't a third or fourth incident in our future.

Opps, I forgot about the Texas FLDS incident! (wanna guess how much $$$$ that little miscue will cost Texas?) But, interestingly, was anyone involved with Ruby Ridge, Waco, or FLDS given so much as a reprimand, let alone being promoted?

Handloader,

Like I said.
Look who our new Attorney General is.

I will also rethink my comparisons about Ruby Ridge types, however, folks should rethink going over everyones statements with a fine tooth comb.
My RB comment was just a little piece of my remarks, which is just what I see at the gun shows that I have been at around here.
I should have said that people at those gun shows are the types that are afraid of all outside government, hide out in cabins or trailers, keep large stocks of weapons just incase the SHTF, doesn't pay taxes, and don't believe laws pertain to them so they don't obey them. They also get their families in situations that could be dangerous because of Janet Reno types in office.
However I made the mistake of keeping it short. In the future, I will just write something just short of War And Peace as to not offend.
A chill pill would be in order on this case.
I stand by what I said, and am a little miffed that one little thing that I typed, has kind of hijacked this thread.
This type of stuff just sucks, and until now, has not been a part of HuntingNut, and shouldn't be in the future.

I dont want to hijack or shut this down... (yet Wink ), but just remind people that its easy to accidently step on someones toes. Words, phrases common to 1 person can offensive to another.

We had a similar situation last year with a common redneck slang name that starts with "B". I used it myself a bunch then I got a PM from someone very offended with how I used it. Had to stop and apologize- then rethink things a bit with repect to how I phrase my writings.

As always, PM me if anyone has issues, problems or concerns.
