That's a fact...I looked them up and they are a bit pricey for a .380...

I'll have to ponder that one.

Here ya go...One Lady Colt .380. Sold on gunbroker for $905.00.

By The Way. If you can get her past all the brick-a-brack. You can get Colt government .380 for a lot less. Same thing. Just not as fancy...

Well I made the mistake of going to the local gun shop and was talking with him about the Lady Colt and he pulled a Llama .380 out of the gun vault. It is gorgeous. Of course no check book or and not much cash with. So I put 200 on it and will pick it up a little closer to our anniversary. It is nickle with nice scrolling and pearl grips, I looked on the net but haven't found on exactly like it. I have a pic of what looks like a newer one.

I had to take my son "shopping" today. He got paid yesterday so he wanted to go look at guns this morning. He found himself a Springfield 1911 GI Stainless Steel. It's a nice looking gun, feels good in the hand but it has the regular GI low profile sights. The sights are a little hard for me to see. He wants to put some aftermarket sights on it. All I know are the Noak and Heinie sites but I have to look into what kind of site is available for the GI. It is a lot of fun to shoot, but a pain to find the brass. Pistol Shooting Very Happy

Nice!!! You might want to take a closer look at the sights though. I don't think you can replace the front sight on it. If I remember correctly, the front sight is actually part of the slide. If it is you'll have to take it to a gunsmith and have it machined. Personally, I wouldn't change it.

Another sight company you might take a look at is Champion. They look just like Novac's but a little cheaper.

The front sight is staked in place. Like hoffy said. check yours to see if it is integral with the slide or also staked in place...

It looks like it is staked in place, I took it apart and it looks like there is a square hole that it is driven into. Novec says there is machining necessary.
I am curious what the total cost would be, so I emailed them for a quote.

Sounds expensive to me. Like the old saying goes "if it aint broke don't fix it". Here's a thought, try to find a slide that came factory with the type sights you want. I noticed that it was made in Brazil.

Just got an email from Novac and it will be $182 for white dots.I'll have to check local gunsmiths to see how they compare, but I am guessing they will be similar. It sounds kinda high to me but it's my son's gun and it's his money. We'll probaly start out with the paint on the front sight.
