Dad has a single set in one of his guns !!!
What I like about it is the fact you can set it (2oz) or use it as a conventional trigger.

I've got both single- and two-stage triggers on my rifles. I have determined my preference is single-stage. I've also been trying to figure out what to do with my ARs. I want to make sure the single stage I ultimately purchase is what I need. In the mean time, I've done the 15-minute trigger job on both my ARs. I shoot mostly carbine matches and I have come to really like how the modified mil-spec hammer and trigger spring feel. Its a quick and easy mod to do on parts that can be replaced for $2 if you don't like the mod.

I've decided the 15-min trigger is well suited for the carbine match style of shooting and will not change them. I will use a single-stage on the long-range AR I've started to build.

I think Suz has "connections"...

That (changing guns in one session) is why my rifles all have Timney triggers set to 4 pounds. It doesn't matter which of my high power rifles I shoot they weight the same, have the same pull length and the same trigger and pull.
I had my smith make my 700 358 Win with the same weight and balance as my 3006. There are differences but they do handle the same.

There is a lot to be said about developing the same habit patters. The few variables, the fewer mistakes you make.

No - 4.5# let off is the only requirement for a service rifle trigger(CMP rule 6.1) CMP rule book but 99% of service rifle competitors use a 2 stage with Geissele and Rock River NM's honed by WOA as the top of that list.

When sighting with iron sights and in standing or sitting position with a sling it is more repeatable to apply the 3# first stage pull and hold for the correct sight picture as you wobble around the black and then finish breaking the shot when the sight picture is right with the final 1# of the second stage.

This is how my revolvers feel too when I use then in PPC matches. rotate the cylinder and cock the hammer with the first stage, about another 1/2 # more to drop it when the sights are right.

If I am shooting prone or from sticks or a bench - I prefer the clean crisp light letoff of the single stage.

Hold off on that double set suz, unless someone with alot of experience is going to install it for you they can be a real booger to put in if you haven't done one before. But the kepplinger single set is pretty much a drop in and can be adjusted up and down. personnally though I still prefer the consistency of a good single stage for all my purposes.

Oh I'm not putting one of those spensive triggers in. I like the ones I've got and they're not complicated at all. Supposed to be getting my new stock today. Yeah!! Haven't heard from my gunsmith though....boooo!! The old Mauser I'm workin on actually has a really nice trigger on it. If everything goes right I'm not going to put any more into it for a while. My boss is shorting us another day of the week too, so money is a factor. Three days a week poooy.

More time to shoot but there is a point where you don't have enough money for ammo!

Funny you should say that about money, I was lookin in my couch and under things around the shack lookin for change and then it hit me...look under the guns!!!

Thanks Suzanne and guys....(you get top billing from me Suzanne). I was realy hoping for one of those answers that goes something like "Hey you Dumb A**, get this and be happy" now I have to think about it. I fired one with a two stage and I did ok with it. felt like I had more control over the shot. I will let you know how I like it with the new trigger. Thanks again.

Chambered, you kinda hit it for me with what you said. I found myself taking up the first stage and waiting for the little boogers to stop moving and then the second stage just happened. Result was a lot of dead coyotes. I think I will try a two stage.
