I havent heard anything reciently about this... the article was last updated in Aug, 2009 which is fairly old.

You want to get scared about something that HAS ALREADY PASSED, deep within the healthcare bill already signed into law, is a scary section on 1099's

This sounds very much like what we have in Canada and I can tell it has cost the tax payer millions and millions of dollars with absolutely no benefit. Our present government is trying to repeal this law but the liberals and NDP keep voting for it. If you can find a way to stop this, do it

As Pelosi said "we won't know what's in it, till it's passed" ok so now we're all a bunch of lemmings...where's the cliff...I"m ready. The American voters are trusting, honest people, and for some reason they expected the government to be honest, they told us all along what was going to happen, but nobody listened...... Really listened, to what they were saying, they sat there before the TV saying "yes we can" and guess what? Oh yes they did.

Nov. is on it's way, I don't have to remind you to vote, but make sure your friends are reminded of what's on the road ahead and if you think you can trust the government to tell you the truth, read a few years worth of American history (hhhmmm Indian affairs comes to mind with me). Politicians are only going to tell you what they know will get them a vote in their favor.

My advice is to make up your mind not to follow a political view. Follow your own view, you have an opinion, find someone that shares that opinion, someone who has honestly has shown to have that same view, there's more than one but they don't all hang together. Obama has been shunned by some of his constituents who don't want him near their campaign, the GOP is the same way, there are different views inside each political side and either side is calling the other a radical view.

What's cool to me is that there is a real fight now and not just some mamby-pamby sweet-talkin goin on. People aren't going to put up with answers like "we won't know what's in the bill until it's passed" because they now know what that means.

So true Suz...they only tell you what they want you to know and what is in their best interests.

As an aside...the proposed Bill and its licensing points are almost identical to what we have had in place for a number of years...all except the approval for Medical Information...and they inspect the storage facility in the household here as well.

Every country is going that way and for some reason they wanna do that here, go figure. Never made sense to me to be so intolerant. Our constitutions just don't seem to last very long before they mess with them. Really if you think about how old your country's constitution has held up and how many times it's been the target of ravage for some reason or another, it's kind of amazing there's anything left. At least there's enough language in there to protect it to some degree. The barn door should be permanently welded shut, but there's always a cockroach that evolves to shimmy into the crack in the wall and start chewin on it. Those guys knew what they were doin but the future generations don't seem to appreciate the meaning, the function, the law that it is.

It started life as a real bill, but died about as soon as it hit the floor. BUT...There are those [SOBs] that persist in continuing to pass it around the internet as fact. IT ISN'T...

Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa came to our town for an informal townhouse meeting and someone bought the snopes article up and Grassley said it will never pass. To many restrictions about nothing he said.

The introduction of universal & mandatory licensing is the point where the camel lifts up its head & pulls out the tent pegs.
Despite this bill being old news & dead in the water, you all need to be ever vigilant if you don't want to end up like the UK or Oz.

I read it - and it is interesting that "the rights of a few" can be denied without question - even in the USA.
When a president comes to town you have to give up your right to bear arms. You cannot excersize your right to free speach. Your right to assemble is completely removed and your right to redress decisions and present opinions are a crime.......

Is the USA that different from the UK?
