I think they called it sheesham wood. I thought it was hickory at first.

As long as I get visitation rights I'm good. Now if my boy wants to deny visitation then I will just cut off the flow of ammo. It's a win win situation either way, I get to play with his toys or I don't have to keep up reloading all his empties so I get more time to play with my toys.

Ok, fnuser, we are supposed to be looking at the guns and you see a table top. However, now that you mention it, pretty intersting grain.

Are we going to keep this thread about guns or we going to start discussing lumber?

I'd be careful...fnuser may be lookin' at that wood for gunstock material. Very Happy

Shocked

I don't do windows....or tables!

Glued up chip-board aint "real" wood. Had no problem spraying it. I'd shoot my own eye out before I tried that with a nice piece of walnut though.

'Sides, my project turned out bitchen and it has the same look and texture of tactical stocks costing thousands more. Very Happy Laughing

'Sides again, Blue, ya had yer chance to "critique" that project on that other...

Oh skip it......I'll never live this one down... Sad

Thanks man! Very Happy

Made an ambi- buttcuff. Works ok. Really weird trying lefty cuz I have to moneky-fist my right hand, and I can't tuck it under the butt yet- amr wont move that far so...oh well. My range of motion is improving somewhat so I kin start dry firing righty soon. By the time I'm ready to go back for hi-power I should be healed enough to do righty...gonna be too windy to shoot next several weeks with the Santa Ana's..30-50 mph etc...so that'll buy me some time.

Ya also git 10 chops-bustin points fer the table and tunk coat crack...that was a guddin! Laughing

I'm shelving my 338 LM project....the 300mag with a break is already enough boom and the pressure wave just kills my sinus if I shoot enough to have fun. I did some math and the 338 would cost too much to aquire, scope and run.

So I'm thinkin' a .308 sniper style would be fun. Less bang = more shooting. Turner's has one I like, Howa 1500, 20" bull bbl, Hogue green stock....scoped too but I prefer mildot reticles. Really cute lil thing. I liked it. And for 560$ it aint a bank breaker. Cant find dope on the twist but I'm guessing 1 in 12". Not sure how much velocity I'd lose with a 20" tube either- if any. Sure is a cute lil thing....looks like this with a Nigheater scope. Add some nice glass and a bipod and good to go.

Tempted here!!!

I have an f.n. .308 pbr in 20" and it works well. I swear those Howa's are japanese Sako's even the action screws are the same. And C.D.I. Precision makes bottom metal if you want a magazine rifle.

one of the guns I inherited was an old 1897 winchester shot gun with a full choke and a modified barrel. So my latest purchase , which was just this weekend, was that I found a receiver in working order with no stock and no barrel for $125. I have 2 spare stocks, and a spare barrel, and now I have 2 1897 Winchesters. Besides that, I bought one of those little Rossi Tuffy single shot 410s for $75 at a pawn shop, but I think most of you read that elsewhere here already.
