neat photos there Vince...definately a grey/black at top.

The top one, as I say, is what we call a Blackie, and the middle one is a Wood Duck, although some say it isn't really a duck, but is in fact a goose...from the shape of the head and beak. The Wood duck is apparently very good eating, although I wouldn't know because it is illegal to hunt them here in Queensland. Wink The bottom pic is another of Percy Duck trying his luck.

Did not get name of kind heart who saved the duck. Wood duck populations have really taken a beating due to habitat loss. We are lousy with black and mallards as well as crosses. Our city parks are overrun. Personally, I prefer my poultry without feathers and purchased from my local supermarket. Exceptions are upland game birds and Canada Geese.

Vince, why don't you call it a lost Flemish duck? Here duck season opened on August 15th... (but I didn't go out to get one, I like hunting doves more).

Besides, I can notice now that it's realy a domesticated one there sitting on the pot and it's always open season for domesticated game.

Good idea Aloys. It's definitely not a domesticated quacker mate...it's a wild duck that was apparently feeling poorly and a kind heart decided to help him out so he can boost the population come hunting season.

I'm surprised no one has had a stab at who this kind heart is...and no, it's not me.

Never post picture when doing something you might have to explain to the authorities. They will be used in court!
