I just picked one of those up too but haven't tried to add it yet. I'm about to ask if anyone else is shooting one and what loads they liked.

Hi Pumpkinslinger, I haven't got that far yet. I am just getting started. I have a Savage Lightweight Hunter in a Boyd's laminated stock and a Burrus 3-9. Only in preliminary testing so far, I shot Factory Federal Fusion 140 grain with ok accuracy. I tried Hornady American hunter 129 grains and it looks like the gun really likes 129 grain bullets. Sighting in with that load gave me a 2 shot group 1/2" at 100 yards. I had to stop shooting, it was getting dark. Now that I'm sighted in I will try that load again and work up a load to duplicate the results.

Its simple to add your own calibers. You rename the Example_calibers_user.slk file to just be "calibers_user.slk", then double click on it and you can edit it in most spreadsheet programs (or even notepad). Just follow the example of the "; 0.243 My SuperWizBang" load and you are GTG. First column is the bullet diameter in inches, followed by the name.

Just be sure to remove any preceeding semi-colons... those comment out / disable that row.

I really need to get that added to the main database though.

Having issues with this myself. Trying to add 6.5 creedmore and 6.5 grendel. Every time I edit the slk the program bombs on loading. Works fine again after I take the entries out. Tried open office and libre with the same results. Even just removing the semi colon from the example entry kills it. Must be something with the file format that is getting messed up.

Are you saving as or exporting as a MS file?
Libre Office can read a bunch of the mainstream but you have to be careful about what it is saved as if you want it compatible in a Microsoft compatible program.

In Libre Calc you can save as a ".slk" file or the ".XLSX" file (among a host of others)

I wondered about that but it looks like the correct format was selected. Never hurts to look again though.
