I have played a few games in my life time. hunting games was not one of my favorite.

I was more into car racing and stratagy games. tombraider, and command and conquer.

I did play a little of these hunting games. and it was fun.

to be honest, I was thinking about buying one of the new cabela's hunting games. only reason I have not done it yet, I just have not had time to play any games.

a friend of mine playes them alot and likes them.

one game I do like to play is vietcong. that is one of the most realistic type of vietnam war games , I have ever seen. alot of guys did not like it for the fact they did not like getting in a game and one hit theyer dead.

I wished I had time to sit till the sun came up playing this game again. lol.

A mate and I got into Deerhunter on XBox. It was ok, but lacked a bit of realism, although that is to be expected. Still it was great fun and gave a lot of enjoyment.

I really enjoy the car racing games and the Need For Speed series, also have The Da Vinci Code......all on XBox. The mate has a heap of military type XBox games and we really enjoy going head to head on them as well. Must have a look at the Viet Cong game though...it sounds good.

Most of the XBox games are good relaxation, which is what they are intended for.

Cheers, Vince

The Xbox is what I play games on. I perfer using a controller then a computer keyboard to play games makes it easyer. Smile

On a side note I was playing Big Game Hunter 2005 last night and I managed to hit a coyote at 366 yards. Shocked My gun was pointed way above its back. which is the nice thing about this game the guns arnt like lasers like in alot of games Smile I wont admit how many shots it took before I got the little bugger though. Sad

Alot of people feel that way but I DETEST controllers. Give me a mouse and keyboard everytime. I love twitch type shooters such as Counterstrike or Battlefield1942/DesertCombat/2. I love the precise control I have with a mouse... playing FPS on a console is lame beyond belief. I cant stand things like Halo on a Xbox. Now granted there are games that thrive with a controller but the majority I play, I prefer a mouse / keyboard. I love the social side to games and you cant chat with a controller.

My #1 game atm is World of Warcraft... been playing over 2 years now.

I once went to my boss back in 1996 and said "Hey I got an idea for a hunting game". He wasnt interested. Then Deer Hunter came out the next year... its a great case study as it was done by 3 guys in 3 months for $300,000. It made $3,000,000 that first year.

I havent played a hunting game in a long time but I've always wanted to make a 3D virtual shooting range with PointBlank's ballistics engine running things... would make a good learning system to shoot at different ranges, winds, angles etc etc. Its still on my "todo" list someday.

Dallan,

Keyboards are nice but I spend quite abit of time editing the controls to suit me. Without having to go from one side of the keyboard to the other to press the button I want. Laughing

Consel games like Halo arnt good games, but there are plenty of good computer games that have made it to the Xbox for example. And there is chat on the games to communicate with Wink

Cool didnt know you were a game programmer, anything interesting about to come out I might see "Dallan C" in the credits for ?? Shocked

The game idea sounds neat. Smile

I have played it several times and I must be a poor hunter, because I never ever came acrooss the elk. Once in a while I would be close and one would bugal, but thats it.

Maybe I need to re-read the instructions on how to play, but when I see far more elk/deer in real life and zero on a computer game, well, that is rather discouraging.

The most fun was doing the "shooting galleries".

Arizona Hunter,

It doesnt let you go that close to the animals for the most part. Smile The game isnt that realistic but its good enough as a fun game to play. Very Happy

I've never in my time playing the game and shot a animal at under 50 yards or so in the game. In Dangrous Hunts they get close but to attack you. Shocked
