I have some loads I'm working on for a buffalo hunt to Mozambique.

currently i'm shooting about 98 gr of H4831 behind a 400gr A-Frame for velocity out of a 25" barrel at +/-2400 fps. sub-moa at 100.

I know I can push this faster; but my question is...do I need to?

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Brad

Hi
I own a Ruger 1H in .416 Rigby

Your velocity and energy sufficient to do the job!!!
Bullet construction and shot placement most important on African Game!!
Remember the game here are born dead and come alive when shot!!LOL

400grainers great.. but stick to solids!!!

Gidday Dick, welcome to the HuntingNut mate. Grab a beer or three, pull up a stump and sit awhile.
