after a short vacation due to life getting in the way i believe i am back... to catch ya all up on things. had a minor flooding here, so i been redoing the basement, then on top of this the borough decides to do thier sweep of junk cars and says my truck is in need of inspections stickers, well going for the parts for it, i get pulled over on the bike. cops tell me i was caught speeding and riding wheelies and stuff i laughed at him and said i couldnt get the front end up if it was running on viagra... so after fighting AND WINNING that case, the cop was chastised for falsifying documents!! i got that squared away..
then i signed the papers to send the oldest kid into the reserves for MP, she is gonna be leaving out this coming summer but she is still looking forward to it all!
in between all of this i managed to get out small game hunting and picked off a couple squirrels, but they sure are small this year for some reason....
wtf

Well well, seems like you had a interesting time!

So your daughter is going to be a MP, well, guess she is going to be lawing down the law both at home and at work from now on. Laughing

Good on ya!

I often think that letting people be career LE is a bad idea. In North America, we like to think our LE is resistant to corruption, but I am here to tell you it is not. I had a run-in with a lying cop once, and my case was so egregious it was used by my US rep as an example to get a federal law passed.

Instead of being chastised, he should have been fired and arrested for falsifying official documents.

Welcome back mate. Was wondering what you had been up to.

Well done on beating that dishonest SOB. Police, like all the rest of us can be both good and bad. As a Justice of the Peace I do a lot of work with the Police and juveniles out here in Oz and I get to see the whole gambit. Fortunately, the good by far outnumber the bad so that tends to keep them in check.

I agree wholeheartedly. It is a total abuse of power and authority. He should have lost the priviledge of being a Law Enforcement Officer due to his dishonesty.

Cheers, Vince

Morax,

That put a funny picture in my mind, a small MP bringing in a handcuffed BIG "macho" military man in for questioning and the guy having to call her "ma'm" as he answers her questions. I'm sure that the guy wouldn't want that being known on base after that. Laughing

But good for you showing her how to hold her own ground! Very Happy

Dimitri

i met her recruter the other night and he asked me if i thought she could do what she was wanting to do, and i told him to go ahead and test her... after a few seconds he just stopped and asked where she had learned it from, i told him from her mother.... they always say its not the size of the dawg in the fight, the size of the fight in the dawg.... I just hope she keeps the level headedness she has now throughout..

The recruiter is trying to make quota.

Size does matter. When I was at the academy, there was a cadet that weighed in at 165, but could bench press over 300 pounds. There was another cadet that weighed in at 230 (and it wasn't all muscle) but could only bench press 190. These two cadets found themselves in the boxing ring together during hand-to-hand training. The small guy was landing punches like nobody's business and they were taking their toll. Finally, the big guy landed his first punch. The fight was over. The small guy woke up about 2 minutes later.

I learned a good lesson that day, since my money was on the smaller cadet.

I think that LE and security is a good job to get in to, for the reason that there is going to be a big demand for it down the road. I my self spent 13 years doing security under the Federal Protective Service & 2 years as Town Marshal, and it was a rewarding job. Cheers Cheers
