My wife and I took our 18 year old daughter to a pub restaurant for her first official visit to a pub...where she can drink legally the other night. Anyway, I went for a walk through the pub, which has quite a history, and found their Trophy Room. The owners of the pub are hunters and fishermen. They concentrate more on their fishing and have plenty of trophies as such, but they also had a couple of mounted heads and a couple of shotguns up on the wall. Check them out below.

Cheers, Vince

Done deal mate, done deal.

Unfortunately, it is only one room in the pub that is like this...the rest of the place is ultra modern. But that ain't a problem...plenty of rustic pubs out here. Very Happy

Cheers, Vince

We don't have any native deer in Australia Joe.....only introduced species...feral deer. I can hunt Fallow, Red, Chital, Rusa...I think thats all... in my home state of Queensland.

Where my daughter lives...in the Brisbane Valley...about an hours drive from home... there are good red deer everywhere. Hardest part is finding a property that will allow you on to shoot. A lot of the property owners have seen the almighty dollar, and now you have to pay to get on...that, plus some hunters and organisations, like the Australian Deer Association, have tied up many properties so that you need to be "one of them" to get on. Its a bit frustrating.

The Chital and Rusa are too far away from me...up to 2000km...we are a BIG State...to be able to get to them, but the Fallow...3 hours drive and I can hunt them all I like without any problems, no season, no tags, just go for it...with the property owners permission of course, which is easy to get...and they are pretty good eating.

All deer spices in Australia are feral (introduced animal) they are brought in either for hunting or for garden ornament once upon a time.

Aside from that, as a hunter I think they are welcome, as a nature lover, I think I should kill em all, coz they rob the food source and damages roaming places for native animals.

What todo.. what to do.. Sad

Ah 'Mitri....no such things as bad beer mate. wtf ....only GOOD beer or BETTER beer. Very Happy Laughing Very Happy Laughing

The beer she prefers at the moment is Canadian Blonde...she rather likes it. Can't say I blame her...its a nice drop. As for educating her...I've been doing that for the past 6 or so years. Always give the kids a taste of what I'm drinking. Much prefer that they try alcohol at home rather than out with their friends. If they try it at home then their curiosity is usually satisfied.

Heh, never heard of Canadian Blonde so I had to look it up. Smile

No doubt about it surviving...but the weight would make it God awful expensive to mail.
