Yes our women's got Gold too, but that was expected.

Congrats Dimitri! It was a great game.

Yahooooooooooooooooo a Gold in Mens Hockey and the most Gold medals in any winter Olympics by any Country ever at 14.

Canada had a good comeback at the podum after the first few days. Of course, it probably was never in doubt for your guys, was it?

Oh ya I was beginning to wonder. I figured we would have a better finish than our start but I never thought it would be as good as it was.

We were all beginning to wonder. The first few games were down right embarrassing.

But hey, the team kicked the Russian's out, and then won Gold, so we can't really ask for more. The Russia-Canada game was the most important one to be won, medal's are nice but our hockey team losing to the Russians is just wrong.

Anyways pretty interesting that Canada before Vancouver never got a Gold on our own soil. Now we got 14. Hopefully all our athletes are happy, and can keep it up for the next 4 years.

This is a copy of my post in Blig Blue's thread in the General Section.

My future Son In Law grew up in Nanaimo Vancouver and played Ice Hockey for most of his early years, so you can imagine how he is at the moment...over the moon doesn't even come close to describing his mood.

On the downside...the TV Network here in Australia that has the rights to televising the Winter Olympics didn't both to televise the game because it would "interfere with their morning programming", yet they could still air a 30 yr old episode of Gilligan's Island!!! B@#&*$DS Suffice to say there will be some rather explicit nasty-grams headed their way.

If anybody managed to tape this game, I would be extremely appreciative if I could get my hands on a dvd copy.

Congratulations to both teams...the road to the Gold Medal playoff was long and hard and both teams earned their position in the final game the hard way.
