bulletin.accurateshoot...e-markers/
I wonder if any one considered the safety of our Border Patrol Agents in deciding to disarm half of them and give them paintball guns. I think this will only cause more problems.

Of course it's a joke, but if not it could be a great idea to fill some 'balls' with sulfuric acid, the 'bullet' will become heavier so less windsensitive, bigger range and most of all: you don't need the choppers to hunt them down because they will return immediatly to get some medical care...

and for training: you could always shoot at some iron parts that need a rustinhibitor...
and don't forget: sulfuric acid is far less expensive than lead and far better for the environment.

and yes, on April 1st it's allowed to get some strange ideas...
till noon.
afterwards we have to safe them for next year Smile

If you don't live here maybe it's a joke.
KVOA of Tuscon, AZ is reporting that border patrol agents have begun to use pepper balls to deal with rock-throwing illegal immigrants.

The story recounts the action of one officer who was confronted with four or five would-be illegals who were engaged in trying to dismantle the border fence. When Agent Scioli moved in to stop them, they began throwing rocks at him – 20 or more rocks.

In the past, Border Patrol agents have been forced to back off as the offense does not warrant the use of lethal force. Now, however, the Border Patrol can throw their own ‘rocks’ in the form of pepper ball and marking rounds.

Given the current state of the economy, I hope that the Border Patrol has done their homework and discovered that there is no such thing as an overly expensive ‘pepper ball’ shooter: that they are all, in fact, paintball guns (with the exception of the FN303).

(Last time I checked, so-called Pepper Ball Delivery Systems were running four and five times what their look-alike, shoot-alike, made-by-the-same-company alike paintball delivery systems were running.)

Tell you what, if I lived there I'd be moving real soon.

Have a Nice Day!
Suz

Not a joke............the only joke is this administrations policies !!!

Not only paint and pepper balls but beanbags as well.
A policy that got Boarder Patrol agent Brian Terry killed in the line of duty.
Read about it here

Even no government and no problems (with a small exception of our Ferrari-prince getting against his father's will traveling-money from Kabilla & C° for a short trip South), this doesn't mean "no taxes" !
We still are paying more politicians than in the PR of China, but now for doing nothing and they already say they can discuss to form a new government till 2014, because then we normally should have new elections...
I better stop now before you ruin my complete weekend...

if you could use an extra state, maybe it's time to ask now. We're not that big, about the size of an average village in your land, but we have good guns, horses, almost the best food and clothing in the world and sure THE best beers of the world (we invented the beer in ancient history Smile )

extra plusses: think about women tennis, jumping, bikers, moto-crossbikers, Antwerp harbour, Brussels chicory, Antwerp designers, our french fried, our Duvel and all our monks Trappist's beer...

Suz, and you can be governor. Better a female Indian than all these funny names on the socialist's ellections list.

Less to do with government buying them but the difference in production.

"Custom" factory markers are priced that much higher then the same production model, but they are built up to be accurate, consistent and reliable to levels the production guns can't come close to.

They are more "match" air rifles then paintball guns at that point. Meant to fire 20,000 plus balls in a day without a jam for sponsored paintball matches.

Maybe she could run again in 2012...can't hurt and she would be a much better at the helm than the guy there now.

I get the idea of a non-leathal deterrent for people throwing rocks, or taking apart the fence, but to disarm the Border Patrol, and only give them paintball markers is insane. They should be an addition to the tools they need to keep the borders safe. Does the current administration think that the drug cartels won't notice? Shocked I don't think they will run from a paintball gun, since we sent them a bunch of M-16's to play with. What about the Ranchers, or the people that are living on the border? I'm pretty far removed from the area, but even I know this is gonna hurt.

I've been sitting here thinking...this is a pretty elaborate April Fool's Day joke, but it is actually starting to look and sound like it is fair dinkum...real.

IF it is real, then I would hate to be the person that signed on the dotted line and made the decision to go with non-lethal "weapons". I know that if a member of my family, or a mate was killed as a result of not having the means to defend himself fully, then I'd be taking legal action against the person that signed off on the decision.

I'm still not convinced that this isn't an April Fool's joke though.

Cheers, Vince

Interesting read on the bp agent that was shot last Dec. Apparently he was equipped with a beanbag shotgun.
