I was in a local second hand store some time back that handles guns. I go in there periodically to gander at what they have for sale. I saw a rifle that intrigued me and would have bought it on the spot but had not the money at the time. I am sure it was a winchester lever action in 30-30 but the barrel looked like it was about 24 or so inches long, I know thats not unusual as my dad had one with a 24 inch barrel. What really cought my interest besides the long barrel was the forearm stock went nearly to the end of the barrel almost like an old black powder rifle or a manlicker stock sort of. The turbular magazine did not protrude from the end of the stock that I noticed. Everyone was busy so i was not able to look at the gun but it had a price tag of just over $500. When I returned later to look at the gun closer it was gone. I explained to my brother what the gun looked like and he insists that it was a drop block rifle but I am sure it wasn't however i cannot find another one that looks like it and am having trouble finding anyone who knows anything about it. I am hoping someone on here can shed some light on the situation. The side of the rifle has a slot to feed ammo just like my lever gun so I cannot imagine it being a drop block. Anyhelp would be appriciated.

thats exactly what I was looking for except i do not remember there being a medalion in the stock. Would you say just over $500 would be a good price on that right?

Seems reasonable to me, depending on how much you want it. Check a Blue Book and the internet for more prices. Says $545 here >> www.doublegun.com/roth.htm

One of the drop box lever action design rifle is made the Vulcanic Arms.

They also have some pistol made in lever action.

Marvelous engineering but low in reliability because the action is somewhat depending on gravity.
There is a few being replicated by a "Charlie" in Home Gunsmith Forum.
You could see the built and how it work there.

I really want that lever action musket, I am not interested in a drop block unless its a ruger. I would pay the $500 or jsut over. My dad payed $600 for his 1967 Model 94 Canadian Centenial. He bought it about 4 years ago NIB never fired.
