I've been reading about this process called Taylor Throat lately and wondered what you all thought of it? As I understand it the throat of the barrel of a revolver is reamed to the diameter of the bullet for a length of 1.5-2.0 times the caliber. It supposedly allows the bullet to better stabilize before entering the rifling and in turn produces better accuracy. I also understand that Hamilton Bowen, of Bowen Classic Arms, estimates a 30-40% increase in accuracy. Anyone here have any experience with it? What are your thoughts?

A shooting buddy had his SBH 45 opened up to a 11 degree angle on the guns forcing cone and found no difference in accuracy verses standard cone. Also had his other SBH 45 opened up to "Taylor" specs on the cone which is basically like the weatherby rifles "freebore". Accuracy on that gun was marginally a little better with shooting groups. Since he used exactly the same loads for all 3 tests with his guns, I don't think it was worth the expense he went thru.
