When shooting for groups I used a damp patch, followed by dry ones until you're sure the bore is dry. Then fire a primer to make sure the vent is dry and clear.

straight from the above mentioned hodgdon manual. Very Happy
Pyrodex burns cleaner and produces less fouling build-up than black powder. Although fouling is left in the barrel, it does not affect ease of loading, pressure, or velocity after the initial shot. it is not necessary to clean the bore between each shot as with black powder.
the gun should be cleaned with a water based solvent(spit bath or pyrodex lube recommended), dried thoroughly, and oiled the same as with black powder. Smile
Shocked now I would take it the secound paragraph SHOULD have started with" after a shooting session" Smile

Especially when using Triple 7, unless you are shooting in a match situation you should be able to shoot several consecutive shots without cleaning, otherwise Pumpkinslinger's method works well at the range. Just how many shots before cleaning depends on your particular rifle. Triple 7 doesn't seem to leave much more residue than most smokeless powder applications in cartridges.

Here's a short discussion on breech plug grease. I can't remember what I used on mine, haven't had a chance to use it in a couple years!

I would use either copper or zinc based antiseize because the nitrates and sulfer combine under presure and heat to make sulferic acid. The zinc protects better but the copper is a close second.

saw where a equal parts alcohol , murphys soap , and hydrogen peroxide is a good cleaner . my question is , do i use that alone with patches to clean or do i wash it all out with water then dry with patches ?

When I use 777 I just use plain water and patches, dry well and run some 1000+ lube down the bore to protect it. Before shooting I run some patches down the bore to remove as much lube as possible. When shooting plastic sabots or plastics skirts the lube can make the plastic skid on the lands, affecting accuracy.

When I use real black powder I clean with hydrogen pyroxide and a nylon brush then flush with lots of HOT water. When the water comes out pretty clear I start running patches through to dry it. Again I use 1000+ lube in the bore to protect it. However with black powder I leave the lube in the bore when I start shooting as it helps soften any fouling. But I also shoot only lead bullets in those guns.
