Burrr is an understatement, i'm doing good to stay in a deer stand when it's 30 degrees. I couldn't imagine doing it with my feet dangling in the water,regardless what kinda boots i had on.

I would agree with rrogacki. i think the .270 does shoot flatter then the 30-06 but i also think it's what your comfortable with, all the rifles you mentioned will do great for taking Deer and or Elk. ...

They move around mostly at night best time to get them would be then but if not then do it at first light of right before the sun goes down.
