You can get scope mounts that are made for keeping iron sights inplace. Several maufacturers such as B-Square make a see-thru ring that will let you use scope and iron sights. |

Thanks Swapfox for the info on the 7.62x39. That makes much better sense that the round appears to be "hot" because of an oversized bullet than just the powder load.
