I like the story of the 243 Win taking Elk, but I would not do it. I have heard that alot of old timer Elk guides only carried 243 Wins, and about a 25-06 taking Elk. But I would not go below a 270 Wi ...

Are you partial to .30? Or would you think on the 7mm Rem Mag? Behind the 30-06 I would think that it is one of the most popular Elk round, if not more popular then the 06. If not and bigger is better ...

Alot of people feel that the 30-06 is a worthless cartridge. I am not one of them, but I thought I would see if anyone on here could change my mind. I think that the old cartridge is capaple of taking ...

I picked up a Marlin 39A in 22LR for a good price and had to pick a bunch of crap out of the action to get it to extract the shells. Now it won't fire, the firing pin doesn't hit hard enough. Anybody ...

I am thinking about a guided Cougar hunt, thing is that I can't afford a $5000 bill to do so. Do you all know of anyone that does high success rate hunts that are reasonable?

My main reason for not picking the 257 Roberts, 257 Weatherby, 25-06 was the low selection of the .25 bullets. Far less available than the .243.

Thanks for the input though.

I was thinking more along the lines of an accurate longrange rifle more than a hunting rifle. With the 1.125 inch barrel I would not be packing it much. By the by how is the recoil of the 240 Weatherb ...
