Should all views aired about the accident be under "Hunting Politics"? After all, he WAS out for Quayle .......... is that how you spell the name of the bird? Smile

"Quail". The only things political about the accident that were political were that the shooter is a politician and the Washington D.C. press got their noses out of joint about not being told first.

There seems to be a lack of journalism, since I was able to request, and get, a copy of the incident report from the Texas Fish and Wildlife shortly after this became news. It was pretty clear what had happened, what was done, and that no special treatment was given.

Since the press has had a habit of saying the VP lied if a story changes, I can completely understand not wanting to give the press the story until all the facts had been gathered and having an eyewitness break the story.

Well, delboy, it seems Quayle is an endangered species, so I doubt our good VP would be hunting them. We do know he was Bushed at the time of the accident. There is no truth, however, to the report that he was driving a Ford or Lincoln, however, he did put an official Nixon press releases. I believe all this is Truman.
