I've been looking for some better products to protect the muskets I use for reenacting. Remember we use real black powder and there is a lot of handling. Its really rough on the guns finished "in the white", i.e. no bluing. Once upon a time I had some stuff called Rust Prevent from Pachmayr that worked very well but I've run out and they don't make it any more. I'm looking at Eezox now, along with some stuff I just heard about called Frog Lube. Has anyone tried these or have any other suggestions?

I've been using the Froglube 8oz paste now for a year now for the front stuffers I have and it is good, they also have the 4oz spray that does the the same as the paste but also acts as a clp.

I use Rust Inhibiting Grease (RIG) and have never had a problem. The link below may be helpful. All the best...

I agree with Gil. RIG is easy to use and very effective. Take care...
