WOW, that round nose would hit like a ton of bricks!
Reminds me of the round nose woodleigh I used to use on my 300 whisper..
Its almost a cylinder!

Had to go back to my 1964 #6 Speer book to find load data for that bullet.

I really, really, really like H4831sc in the .270 with both 130 & 150gr bullets, of ANY kind.
Even my mediocre shooting skills can get sub half inch groups using it & Sierra bullets.
Lighter bullets are another thing though, with Reloder 15 doing the business.

now I really want to cry
plurry powder company rep said"no problem" when I ordered powder but now..... " sorry havent got it"
so have ended up with AR2213sc which I know is said to be the same but when I look to ADIs description of AR2213sc they say "between H4831 and imr4831
so I guess we wont ever know just what the powder companies have done....
never mind my most accurate ever load for the old girl was with AR2213sc and 130grn taipans so I guess it will be great any way. so much for trying something different .

Interestingly enough I just found this article by Steve Gash in Guns & Ammo (FEB 2013 issue) about loading for the .270 Winchester. He mentions the Speer 170 grain bullet and his load for it is 54.0 grains of AA3100, for a muzzle velocity of 2,622 ft/sec from a 22" barrel. "... it shoots superbly."
I don't see the article on their website yet.

My Schoenauer MCA .270 has a quick twist and shoots the 160g. Partitions well. The best load is IMR7828. Don't know if there is an AR equivalent or not.
