It's like sue said Vince-we've got laws about that stuff! Can't build one without permission ,license, colonoscopybackgroundcheck, license for the the item in question,tax-a,tax-b,tax-c,etc., or do it the wrong way and you could get a new roomate named bubba, and ten years, and less 10kusd ,and never worry about owning guns for the rest of your life!.....All of this from the folks that allow us 100 rd magazines or larger!I'm just happy with the magazines till they "F" that up again! Prices for now stop me from getting quieter toys, and that o-care thing!

I might be remembering this incorrectly but I think that building you own suppressor in the US, without the taxes/licenses, can get you up to 30 years in prison.

this jelly fern clearing we have stalked probably 9-10 times spooked wee pig one day and have put deer off but never seen them. today was the day but no friggin way am I in a hurry to repeat the way we went to approach it!!!
we spooked a stag earlier in the day close to a mile from this spot...only got to see his ugly velvet as he took off 30yrdish away...never saw any body to poke a hole in then we went waaay up over the open tops and overlooked some really primo country before dropping down through some of the crappiest bush imaginable to approach this clearing from above.

I do regret selling this rifle....I'm at stage in life where the way I'm hunting would make it ideal....

I now own two bakail single shot rifles..a 222rem that is cut short, that wears a muzzle forward suppressor
and a 7.62x39mm (I know I know, shouldnt have sold it) with barrel left long, just purchased another gunworks suppressor for that one and it balances and looks much better with overbarrel than it did sharing muzzle forward with trebly.
my 270 is still using origonal can,as is the 223,neither show any wear and both still working as they should do...

Interesting that you have opted for a .222 mate. I would have thought that a .223 would be more versatile…same projectiles, similar powder load, a bit more velocity and factory ammo much more readily available. Having said that, I’ve read good things about the .222 even though it’s not so common these days.
Well done on the 7.62x39 mate. I personally believe the Soviets found the magic combination with this calibre. You can’t go wrong with this round out to around 300m.

For the .222 Baikal: it's a pity mine is saying "no" to the heavy bullets. I'm not so favoring the 55 grs for hunting and Sierra's 63 grs SMP is not stabilized in the Baikal. When your rifle should like the 63 grs SMP: don't hesitate to use it for hunting!
For the 7,62x39: my CZ 527 M Carbine never disappointed me with a 125 grs HP of Sierra. And I still have to check casted (and powdercoated) lead bullets in this rifle, it might be lots of fun as the case is a lot smaller than the 30/30 Win.
But the stupid thing at this moment in Belgium: as long as they don't make some new decent laws according this matter it's not allowed to reload cartridges without having a classification as real ammo-factory (and all the necessary safety measures that comes with this classification)

My bakails are not fussy beasts. Vince I traded the trebly for Leupold scopes I just couldn't live 4.5-14 power...just didn't suit me at all as terrible up close. I've taken a few deer and pigs with it. Cut short n suppressed it's a joy to use. My bolt action .223 gets plenty of work don't worry about that. 55grn kill deer just fine n dandy as do 52 GRN lol..all about where you poke them in.
