Hi Daveyboy...one more tidbit...here's what I'm going to use on the shoulders to alert me to temperature:

650 Fahrenheit/343 Celsius Tempilstik Temperature ...
Tempil manufactures fusible temperature indicators which are sold as sticks, liquid, pellets and self-adhesive labels. ...

Hey Davey, PaulS lists the main reason for heat treating brass, alot of the time you just cant find th eright size of brass and since most calibers brass is a reformed version of another round........

Reformed brass eh?

My 6.5 x 55 swede probably falls into that group. It's all punched stuff, isn't it. So annealing makes it more workable so the next time I reload, tumble for a polish, anneal cases, neck die and primers out, primers in, powder in, bullet in.

Bullet goes into rifle, bullet goes into deer, deer goes into freezer.

Does that sound right?

Sorry for sounding a bit thick! Confused

D
