I’ve had a very troublesome week. My wife felt unwell last Tuesday afternoon, saying her right arm and leg felt numb and heavy. I didn’t muck about, took her straight up to see a Doctor who promptly sent her to Hospital.
After much assessment the Doctors came to the conclusion that she had suffered a "mini stroke", medically called a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).

She settled down in a hospital bed about 1:30am and I headed off home, getting into bed around 2am. Back up at 5am to get ready to head off back to the hospital…I’m still trying to recover from the lack of sleep. Long story short…the symptoms settled down fairly quickly and an MRI, Cat Scan, ultrasound and blood tests showed all was well with no hints of damage from the ‘attack’. This makes me happy in so much as she is well, however they say an TIA can be a warning shot for a possible major stroke in the future. All seems good now, or so she says, so now it’s just a matter of keeping an eye on her.
The effect it’s had on me and the problems I came out of the Army with has been terrible…it’s really stirred things up for me badly. I wake up four or five times a night to check she is ok.
