First a little background - I have had and used a Galco Yaqui Slide holster for my various 1911s for more years than I can remember. It has always given great service when concealment wasn't an issue but access was. Since the loss of my GSP, my little Rat Terrier no longer has protection from our wandering coyotes when we go out for latrine duty other than me - and he thinks he can whip their butts, so you see the problem. We have been challenged quite a few times so I have made it a practice to just wear my Yaqui during the day and drop a 1911 in on the way out the door.

The other day I went to drop a pistol into the holster and noticed that somewhere along the line I had lost one of the bushing spacers for tension control. Now I am not willing to quit using that holster and replacing it seems a bit extreme, so I contacted Galco by email to see if I could purchase a set (two to a set). The answer came back within minutes:

We are sending replacements which should arrive in about 7-10 days via regular mail. We recommend placing a drop of fingernail polish on the threads to help keep it from backing out. Please do not use a thread-locker as they out-gas which can damage the leather and crystallize the rubber grommet.

Parts came today and rather than just the rubber spacer I needed, there are parts to rebuild the whole spacer system!

Nice and simple, no BS and no charge. That's what a good company does!

Hmmm looked into Galco holsters, they looked to be really good quality and construction. It's awesome to hear they stand behind their products.

I find it interesting their comment about loc-tight. Never considered that being an issue, but they're the experts in this.

I actually ordered a Colt 1991 A1 (3.5") holster from Craft Holsters about 2 weeks ago (lefty). No real reason I went with Craft over Galco other than a really good sale they had going on. I hope the quality is as good as Galco. They have an absurdly long lead time though, expected sometime in late June, they hand build all holsters to spec as orders come in.

Seems like every time I order something I find something else I then doubt myself on regarding the original purchase. LOL!

I am glad to hear these kind of testimony, it certainly creates more faith in good suppliers.
