Well, I’m in hospital at the moment…my legs, ankles and feet swelled up to the point where they were very painful…FLUID! They don’t know why it happened yet (they are running tests) but I’m on 80mg of diuretics a day (40mg morning and afternoon), and boy does that stuff work! I’ve been peeing like a racehorse with six pints in a one pint container.

What they’ve said so far is concerning me a fair bit…the keep mentioning heart failure. Apparently your heart can deteriorate a bit and cause fluid in the legs. I’m not sure how long I’ll be in here, but it worries me that SWMBO is looking after her 98 yr old Mum all day and getting up pretty much every hour through the night to get her out and back into bed for a toilet visit. These problems I’m facing now happened after doing the “night shift” for seven weeks straight…trying to rest up in a recliner. Scratch Confused

well mate....not stuff all else you can do about it... listen to Doctors...and get on phone and call in other family to help out at home..or consider some respite care short term... Im sure you will have agencies over there that will help out... the nurses where you are will know, pick some brains and get some rest for both you and your good Lady.
get well soon.

Vince, you have to be very carefull. It's wintertime now in your part of the world and when it's realy cold I would recommend to take proper precautions: drink enough of something with high alcohol % (slyvovitch, jenever, gin, whiskey, ...) before your water gets frozen...

BTW, doesn't WD40 helps to get rid of water?

And it might sound nasty that I laugh or try to laugh, but I also have my left leg showing the same symptoms and I know for sure that it doesn't help when I let my ears hang down... a big smile and a good laugh is often the best remedy! So: smile and keep that water from entering your heart or your lungs!

Good grief, I hope they figure out the cause and more importantly a solution!

We've all known each other for a really long time now, age continues to offer new and annoying challenges.

Keep us posted on your progress. I hope your stay is short in the hospital.
