Hi all well just bought my new rifle ,one new styer ultra light 30 06 now wich scope to put on it ok found 2 scopes so far muerler eraticor 8-5x25x50 or 4x16x50 tactical or bushnell elite 3200 5x15x50 can someone give me some good honesr advice as all the gun shops want to do is sell me scopes wich are worth mor e than the gun i supose thats the way to go if you got the money regards Stan

Congrats on your new rifle Stan. As far as scopes go, the Mueller is a good scope, I have one on my .223, but due to shortness of eye relief, I wouldn't recommend it on an 06. It may hurt. Don't have any Bushnells, but I do have alot of Swifts, and for the money I would recommend these for your rifle. For a higher magnification I do like the
SRP 6-18x44. Good luck!--tr

I have never had good luck with Bushnell scopes on .30 caliber rifles; the reticles seem to shoot out of them in short order. They work OK on .223 and the like, though.

I suggest the Leupold VX line, the 4-12x 40 specifically. They are priced on a par with the Bushnell 3200 and, IMHO, a better scope.
