I was working as a driller underground in a mine....this is over 25 years ago now. i was brand new as a driller and I got this idiot for a helper. I mean you couldn't teach this guy to fetch! So, kind of unsure of myself because it was my first week being the guy in charge, I fired him off my drill. We're working 800 meters underground and this guy says "you can't fire me. this is a union job" So, I thought..."whoops" and I said to him "Go to surface and ask the foreman if I can fire you" and he stormed off to do that. Just getting back to the shop would take most of his day and I knew the foreman would re-assign the boobie somewhere. Good enough for me, got him off my drill, someone else got stuck with him because of union regs wasn't my problem.

And it's your or someone else's fault. NEVER theirs...
