Good day everyone!

Have lurked around here for a while, actually found the site while trying to find the Point Blank Software! Dallan, I must say, I applaud the work you have done on that gem, it is great! Looks like a great site with great members talking about my favorite past-time.

I am a country-boy turned into a banker from Central Kansas. Grew up outside of Russell, KS, (home of Bob Dole), and have been hunting for 30+ years and reloading for 20 years. I am an avid upland bird hunter, but my real passion is predator calling.

That's all for now, my boss is looking over my shoulder, and have to get back to work!

Welcome to the site tbox61! Glad you took the time to make a post.

Is the deer hunting in Kansas as good as they say it is? We have a family from there that come out to hunt cow elk on our property each year... we've dropped hints about wanting to hunt deer back there but they clam right up LOL

Dallan,
I would be glad to trade a deer hunt for a cow elk hunt! You might have to give me a year, my wife has this silly notion that our home remodeling project trumps any major hunting activity!

There are plenty of deer here, primarily whitetails, but I have access to some land in Western Kansas that has some bruiser mulies! In fact, numbers are such that residents can shoot one antlered deer, and then get tags for up to 4 or 5 more antlerless deer. Unfortunately, the mulie tags are by draw, and the whitetail tags can be purchased over the counter.

I am not sure what the procedures are for out-of-staters, but we can correspond when I get this durn house project behing me.

Aah...Could I trade my wife for a hunt in Kansas??? I'm temporarily stuck in california and have nothing else to trade. She's 50, but well kept. A bit too well kept I might add...Five kids all grown...Only slightly used...

And welcome to this fine site...

Bushmaster,

Thanks for the offer, but I really don't know what I would do with another one! Guess I shouldn't complain, my dad used to say, 'The Lord gives you one good wife and one good bird dog in a lifetime, don't mess either of them up!'
