Just returned from three days of duck hunting on the prairie pot holes.
Went with my Son Ben and his hunting buddy who also is 17yrs old.
We limited on ducks, and shot one goose around 18 pounds.
Saturday, it got into the 90's with around a 40mi wind. Like being in a blast furnace. It still was a lot of fun.
Yesterday and today, it rained and was in the 50's. Go figure.
A great time was had, especially last night when I cooked up a big duck dinner for the boys.
I love my home but like in the old days, I could spend the entire duck season in pot hole country.
Not like in the old days, I would take some time to rest, sleep in a little, and tend my aching and tired muscles.

I know exactly how u feel, well thats not true my dad knows since he gets tired faster than before but when i grow up i want to be as enduring as my dad!

Mr. Eric, my dad and i have been going hunting almost every 2nd day now, the northern ducks are here and so are geese and weve run out of BB shells for them geese, got me another big honker,
used our 870 about 80 yards i am guessing, shoot him while he was still sitting, it was really windy(nothing new for manitoba) and it was raining so i didnt hit him hard enough so i pick him off in flight but apparently didnt kill him, later on while trying to sneak up on other geese on other side of lake, i see a goose trying to fly away not more that 20 yards away so i up and shoot him and but it was really dark and i could barely see him even from that close so i get closer and shoot his head full of holes. in the end i get my big goose and great time! gotta love hunting!

Our deer season opens the first Sat. of November, and hopefully, we can shoot our deer fast, so we can get back to duck hunting.
These days, I shoot deer for the freezer, and get back to the marshes as soon as possible.

I know exactly what you mean, unfortunately i dont have a lot of opportunities to be out in the "wilderness"(lol). now that i ll get my hunting licence and car probably coming soon ill do more hunting.

good to see that there are still some people that can look at nature and see Gods reflection in it! Big Bang! yeah right!haha
