Just reading the news wire, it appears that it was actually a mob hit. Unfortunately "Mr. J. Elly" had just gotten back from the horse track and "Sucker's Nag" just didn't come in the way he had hoped. He was in over his head and not to mention the 2 dozen donut holes he had running around and his powdered sugar problem. He resorted into hitting the streets a few months before and was running both back alley craps and 3-card monty games. So the wire reads, the prime suspect is now no other than the notorius "Bear Claw", a known Captain in the "On-a-Pastry" crime family, who by the way has a piece of the take out at Winchell Downs - as J. Elly had made considerable bets on the side with BC and having them fall through, BC had to send a message to other would be welchers. It is always sad to lose one of these to the streets, but you can always seek comfort in knowing there will be a fresh batch just like him in the morning.

I didn't think that the mob would get interested in small hits like this...although where monay is concerned...especially welched bets...then anything is possible.
